Nr. 27 | Clouds

A sky that is always cloudless? Unthinkable!
In a light-hearted and imaginative way, Papperlapapp No. 27 answers different questions about clouds. For example, how do they form? What types of cloud exist? How heavy can they be?

The first story takes place on a sunny summer’s day. Brother and sister Armin and Lisa go into the garden, where they come upon a small talking cloud. After befriending it, the children start to get worried that the cloud won’t survive the hot day. However, the friendly cloud has a few words of comfort for the siblings: clouds appear in the sky, break apart and then come back as new clouds.

In the second story, Lio suddenly sees the world around him quite differently after recovering from a cold: he sees clouds everywhere. Everyone is carrying different clouds around with them: first, a person hurrying along the street, then the other children at preschool and finally Mum. Some are dark orange clouds of stress, while other joyful clouds are colourful like a rainbow. Lio now focuses hard on observing all these clouds and learns how to react to other people and their moods.

The activity page invites readers to build a cloud mobile. The brainteasers encourage them to think about many different cloud formations. The hidden object game is all about the weight of clouds. And Oli and Grant save a small chestnut tree with the help of a rain cloud.
