Abbrederis
Lived in New York, Madrid and Brussels from 1989 to 2000. During this time, Christoph Abbrederis worked as an illustrator for “The New York Times”, designed children's books for “La Galera” and corporate illustrations for agencies. He has lived in Austria again since 2000, works for “The New Yorker” and “TAZ”, illustrates books and children's books and regularly publishes comics in “Strapazin” and on the Internet (topic: “The Daily Failure”). Christoph Abbrederis teaches both at the University of Applied Arts, Vienna and at the HfG, Lucerne.

Studied graphic design at the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart under Professor Heinz Edelmann. This was followed by several years as an art director in a large international and a smaller national advertising agency in Frankfurt am Main. Back in Stuttgart, he has been working as a freelance art director and graphic designer and, for some years now, primarily as an illustrator. His clients include publishing houses, agencies, companies and institutions.

In 2015 Elenia attended the Master’s Degree in Editorial Illustration at MiMaster in Milan, Italy. Her influences come from different resources as movies, old photographies, music and literature. She worked with international magazines, publishers and companies. Today Elenia is working on a picture book for a French publisher.

Sonja Bougaeva has already received several prizes for her work, including the “Premio Club Kirico” and “Le prix des Incorruptibles”.

* in Stuttgart. In 2002 Lotte Bräuning moved to Hamburg to study illustration at the University of Applied Sciences. Today she illustrates stories for various publishers and magazines and is also a member of the illustrators' collective “Die Krickelkrakels”. She has her studio on an island in the middle of the River Elbe, where she lives with her husband and two children.

Elīna Brasliņa (1988) is an illustrator from Latvia. She has worked on close to thirty titles, most of them children’s books by Latvian authors, but books illustrated by Elīna have been published in sixty countries, and translated into forty languages – most of these are editions of Lawrence Schimel’s board books “Bedtime, Not Playtime” and “Early One Morning”. She is also a production designer at the Latvian animation studio “Atom Art”, and makes drawings of her daughter in her spare time.

* in Rome in 1989, where she lives and works. Beatrice started to get interested in illustration when she went to her first Bologna children's book fair in 2004. After the degree in Architecture in Rome she went to Milan to take a post graduation course at MiMaster where she obtained a master in editorial illustration. Her works have been featured on several magazines and picture books, she was selected at the World Illustration Awards 2017 in children's book category and at Bologna children's book fair 2018.

is a UK-based illustrator of Polish origin. Before graduating from Falmouth University with a Distinction in MA in Illustration, she worked as an NHS doctor specialising in mental health. She is a winner of the 2024 Bologna Illustrators Exhibition and a finalist of the 2024 Golden Pinwheel Young Illustrators Competition. Aneta writes and illustrates her own stories and collaborates with other authors to create images for their books. Her illustrations are made using a combination of digital and analogue mixed-media techniques to achieve a range of compelling textures. She vividly captures the emotions of her human and animal characters. Aneta has multiple pets who are an endless source of inspiration for her humorous and heartwarming stories which often hold a deeper meaning.

* in 1983, Chloé grew up in the countryside of Lorraine (France), where she enjoyed drawing houses and waiting for snowy days so she wouldn't go to school. Chloé graduated in Illustration at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, in 2012. She makes children's books, editorial press, art workshops with children and adults. In 2013, she created the fanzine for children, named Cuistax, along with other authors and illustrators based in Brussels.

Studied illustration at the HAW in Hamburg and at the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee (Scotland). His first book, “Bauer Enno und seine Kuh Afrika”, was published in 1997. Since then, he has illustrated and written numerous others. Jens Rasmuss has received several awards for his books, including the Austrian Children's and Youth Book Prize three times and a nomination for the German Youth Literature Prize. Jens Rassmus lives in Kiel.

Eva Rust studied scientific illustration and has been a freelance (no longer very scientific) illustrator ever since. However, she still likes to draw inspiration from the animal and plant world in her work. She prefers to draw books about strong heroines and print monsters. Her books have been published by Editions Cambourakis, Atlantis, SJW, Trotz allem and Tintenkilby. Her latest project “Tümpel” was created in collaboration with Lena von Döhren and exists as a children's comic and animated film, which premiered at the Berlinale.

Trixi Schneefuß grew up on the edge of the forest in Bad Bevensen (Lower Saxony). Fascinated by the idea of being able to go to the movies or a concert on foot, she moved to a real city after graduating from high school - Hamburg. Here she studied illustration at the University of Applied Sciences. Since graduating in 2007, Trixi Schneefuß has been working as a freelance illustrator and author. She is a member of the illustrators' group “Die Krickelkrakels” and draws, paints, crafts, photographs and writes for various magazine and children's book publishers.

Constanze Spengler studied illustration and communication design at HAW Hamburg. Her desk is in the Hamburg illustrator's studio Amaldi. There she particularly enjoys designing, drawing, painting and assembling a good story. She has also been writing and illustrating her own texts for several years, most recently the children's book “Willkommen im Hirschkäfer-Grill” - an adventure story from the world of insects.
