Unlike others, we’re not planning to move to Mars just yet, so we focus on Earth in Papperlapapp No. 25. How can you and I protect our planet to ensure peaceful co-existence? In our magazine, social justice and environmental protection go hand in hand.

Word has got around in the animal kingdom, too, that environmental protection is an issue and that often less is more. In our first story, Leoparda drives on, the leopardess takes all the animals, from the elephant and fox to the goose and hare, to their appointments in her bus. But one day, the passengers acquire a liking for private transport and all of them decide to use their own car instead. This leads to more and more cars on the road, creating traffic jams, noise and fumes, and over time, even the animals get frustrated with this situation. So Leoparda shows them that cycling is much better because there’s no noise or stench. And it’s not long before you can see all the animals, from bears to crocodiles to mice, getting to their destinations just as well on their bikes – and happier, too. Just on special occasions Leoparda still collects her animal friends and drives them places in her bus.

A few friends are sitting together at nursery school, thinking about how they can help to conserve the Earth’s resources or – as they put it – “nibble on” them less. Be it toys or clothes, they love getting new things. But do they really need to buy them? In the story called The great swap, the children ultimately realise that swapping things is as fun as it is useful.
